Well, > you wouldn't be a citizen but it looks more workable > although difficult. The entire premise is based on what they think was the intended role of government prior to the 14th Amendment. The existence of the 14th Amendment makes the entire argument moot. Whether they like it or not, the 14th Amendment is a part of the Constitution, and the Constitution is the supreme law of the land. Sovereign citizen is a term used to refer to a political movement which grew out of a belief in government abuses of power. Members often refuse to hold social security cards or driver's licenses and avoid using zip codes. Sovereign citizens believe that U.S. citizens are either "Fourteenth Amendment citizens" (who are subject to the federal and state laws and taxes) or "sovereign citizens", who are subject only to common law or "constitutional law" (or both), but are not bound to obey statutory law. No court has ever upheld these claims. Sovereign citizens may also be referred to as "freemen" or "common law citizens". A sovereign citizen is defined by the Anti-Defamation League as follows: "The "sovereign citizen" movement is a loosely organized collection of groups and individuals who have adopted a right-wing anarchist ideology originating in the theories of a group called the Posse Comitatus in the 1970s. Its adherents believe that virtually all existing government in the United States is illegitimate and they seek to "restore" an idealized, minimalist government that never actually existed. To this end, sovereign citizens wage war against the government and other forms of authority using "paper terrorism" harassment and intimidation tactics, and occasionally resorting to violence." LINK WIKI Self-described "sovereign citizens" believe that they have certain individual rights of popular sovereignty rights under English common law and are not subject to the federal government. The litigants advance this concept in opposition to "federal citizens", who, they believe, have unknowingly forfeited their rights by accepting some aspect of federal law. They claim that a "sovereign citizen" is subject only to common law and/or "constitutional law", not to statutory law (including most taxes)....Courts have consistently ruled that the concept of a "sovereign citizen" has no legal merit. Maybe most Americans aren't use to be in such a position. Maybe there is a reason why the sense of reclamation and revolution are in the air.

I just hope the Chinese leaders are rational, but I've big doubts. You do have to understand these Chinese cheapskates went through energy crunch that resulted rolling blackouts in the manufacturing facilities. Spikes on price of rice, porks and other intermediary commodities. LIFO of credit crunch. Lets hope they've cool heads and be just as rational as we would like them to be. Guess who control these prices and pull the stops along the way, now that we're living in the carnage of grand mismanagement by the grand strategists.

Jared, I appreciate the sentiment. Somehow, however, decapitation just doesn't quite fit the whole "bashing" thing.....

It's about living in a society that does NOT tolerate gay bashers.

Jared, Sure. That's not what everyone on the board was saying, not a week ago. Raving and droning on and on about how this legislation wil "protect" the rights of gay citizens. Utter, complete bullshit. But hey, as long as it makes liberals feel better and not so damn guilty....

It's not about protection. Not even the laws you want would be protection. Fry the fucker. That has nothing to do with our personal debate.

Dan, >In the end, does it matter how you die? You are, arterall, still dead. Of course there's the little thing about enabling death that makes some forms of death more actionable than others.....

Jared, Lame and reading impaired. An assailant has already been charged. There is a controversy over whether the hate crimes will apply. In any event, if convicted, the perp could certainly fry, with or without the aid of the hate crimes bill. The reality is that even with the bill passed, Jorge got his head cut off, his body mutilated, and the rest of the community knee jerking hysterically. Kid's still dead. The bill didn't provide squat for "protection".

Luggy, A kid gets his head cut off and all you have to say is an attack on the new hate crime legislation that will help fry his killer when they find him? Ass.
