High Tension is a French film about 2 girls in rural France who deal with the murder of one girl's family. It is very creepy and has a Hitchcockian ending. Cecile De France is wonderful.

I saw The Exorcist when I was about 12, I think. One of mom's church friends refused to even drive by the theater where it was playing. The Shining should have been on my list, too.

I don't remember igh tension, but the others are scary. I think the Exorcist takes the cake. But my daughter separates halloween movies from that type of scary. She is something of a fanatic. She has a locked bookcase full of autographed first edition books by Clive Barker.

I'm amazed at the number of people who like "The Thing". I thought I was the only one. Just keep swinging at its' arms.

1. John Carpenter's Halloween 2. Night of the Living Dead 3. American Werewolf in London 4. The Thing 5. Creep Show These are the five top horror movies (not according to me, but to my daughter, who is a horror movie freak). I don't have a list of my own.

I have to watch Out Of Africa any time I come across it on tv. Make of that what you will. I also have to watch Sling Blade.

I wikied The Sentinel, it was Christina Raines, not Barbara Hershey in the film. Jim, I remember the part with Bev D'Angelo... "We fondle each other."

I can't wait to see this one. Have you seen O Brother Where Art Thou? "Tommy Johnson" sold his soul ("I wasn't using it") at the crossroads. My new love: Blind Willie and his wife Willie B Harris backing him up. I was watching The Devil's Rejects the other day and his "Dark was the Night, Cold was the Ground" is in it.

CADILLAC RECORDS. saw this last night and swooned. a lot of it was DRAMATIZED for effect , but could have stood alone on the historic facts. was suprised that phil chess was totally non-existant... i mean he was half of the partnership. mos def looked more like urquel than chuck berry , and eamonn walker played howling wolf the same way he played the preacher on KINGS and the preacher on OZ, talk about a great , but one dimensional actor. and the anecdote of hubert sumlin jumping ship to muddy's band was played right down the line according to blues bar legend. and beyonce ripping off etta james was nothing but ego ether. i liked it because i grew up steeped in blues lore. just wish they had worked in robert johnson's deal at the crossroads.
