Sookie lost her parents as a child, not long after realizing she had the ability to hear others' thoughts. Though Sookie's grandmother took her in, the young woman's telepathy has been an ongoing curse. Hearing the intimate feelings of everyone in her small town has left her feeling impossibly alone. And those who haven't been scared off by her "talent" have disgusted her with their shady musings. After decades spent as the local oddball, Sookie has learned to serve up a combination of sexiness and sass that helps her deal with most situations, but she has yet to find out whether her bite can back up the bark.

pochurko1 posted: Camp does not have the emotional depth Anna does in her acting ... Guess the preference is based on how people see the character ... I agree. I can't imagine Sookie with that overbite either. Nor does she have the body, that some of those Sookie outfits require. Anna Camp is perfect as Sarah Newlin, I am in complete agreement with casting on this.

Camp does not have the emotional depth Anna does in her acting ... Guess the preference is based on how people see the character ... For me, she is great, but then again I would prefer a more manly, and not "feminine" Bill that Moyer portrays.

>In my house the four of us were enchanted with Camp for all of Season 2, and agreed many times that we wished she'd been cast as Sookie. I think she was perfect for the role... She was excellent. She had that innocent quality to her of a small town girl, yet you can see she was equally fiesty. She would look good w/ SM and AS too. But then if they gave AP the role of Sarah, that would have been horrible. I can't even picture AP and RK doing a love scene together.

Checking in here for the first time in months--just saw this tidbit on another board... "(According to AB) Anna Camp was the 1st runner up for the part of Sookie." What a shame it didn't happen! In my house the four of us were enchanted with Camp for all of Season 2, and agreed many times that we wished she'd been cast as Sookie. I think she was perfect for the role...she certainly fits the part, and as a South Carolinian she rocks a genuine accent to boot. She's also an accomplished actress in her own right. It's such a pity it didn't work out--I'd really love to have seen what she could have done with Sookie. -- Edited by Runa at 11/12/2009 8:36 AM PST

She wasn't on the GN show airing tonight, but it should air next Saturday on BBCA. I hope she was actually interviewed, as well. ~Lou

AP is a great actress ... my only probs with her on the show is that her softened face look is a little too sweet at times and the accent is in and out. Hope she uses the downtime to work on her accent.

The spike boards are interesting .. TV show seems between Dexter, TB and Sarah Conner Horror Actress: between Jennifer Carpenter and AP Horror Actor: SM vs. Michael C Hall Vilian: AS vs Cam Gadget Supporting actor: Nelson vs. Taylor Kitsch Ensemble: Twiiight vs TB Breakout and supporting categories have a lot of Twilight and Harry Potter ... not much chance there. And, ensemble looks lost also. Song is an ok chance ... Lets get voting! (if you do not like SM, Ryan Kwanten is also an option in the category)
